Summer Learning

The Social Studies is pleased to offer a variety of summer learning programs to students. Teachers recommend students for these programs, and each is designed for students with different needs.

11th Hour ProgramThis program is for students who need to finish up a limited number of assessments in order to receive credit. In 2019, this program will run from Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27. It will run from 8:00-10:30am. To access work, click the link. Program teachers have a list of assignments for each student. 

Crash Course 9: This program is for students who need to recover three or more learning targets in order to get credit for Civics and Citizenship, our freshman course. In 2019, it will run on the following dates:

  • July 8-11, 8:00-11:00am
  • July 15-17, 8:00-3:00pm
  • July 18, 8:00-11:00am
  • July 22-26, 8:00-11:00am

Students will spend a week gaining background information, a week on a field experience, and a week reflecting on the connections between the knowledge they gained and the experience they had. They will put their work together in a portfolio or demonstration of some kind.
